AN XBOX 360 CLAN FOR GAMERS OVER 25 WHO SPECIALIZE IN THE CALL OF DUTY & MODERN WARFARE TITLES
How did this come to be...
TangoDown was the brainchild of Sgt Payback and Stang503421 (now Stang98k), and the clan was "destined to be" years before it even opened up shop. Payback and Stang met on the Xbox COD2 forums, both responding to a post that was advertising an adult gaming site's "Call of Duty Thursdays" game night. Both joined the recruiting site's Call of Duty clan. Payback and Stang also teamed up in a Call of Duty 2 ladder and fought hard for a team so eloquently named "Pineapple Express" - getting routinely defeated at the hands of several other COD regulars.
As time went by, many of the COD regulars from the site found interest in other games - Chromehounds, Gears of War, RB6:Vegas, and others. After trying other clans, Payback and Stang were unable to find a group of people that shared the same game interests and the same style of play.
Stang and Payback discussed asking the owner of the site they frequented for permission to take over the then-dying Call of Duty clan, but before that could happen the clan was disbanded due to inactivity. COD2 had been left in the dust.
Payback and Stang posted a thread in the site's general Call of Duty forum asking for ideas for a new clan name.
After numerous suggestions, the name 2old4Duty was chosen (a suggestion by clan member Caput Mortis), and the clan was officially started on January 29, 2007. 2old4Duty grew quickly and was well recognized as the premier clan for Call of Duty lovers in the gaming community.
In August of 2008, the clan was quite literally forced to move from it's original home site with the reason of developing it's own homepage. With no other good option, this spawned a re-birth of the clan. After a bunch of ideas were given to the clan, a name suggested by Sgt. Payback was the winner; 2old4Duty was to become TangoDown. A new domain name was purchased, and here we are: TangoDownGaming.com.
TangoDown is known for their laid-back style of gameplay - sometimes to a fault as non-members get frustrated with members sitting in the lobby and bs'ing. The clan is also known for the outstanding clan tournaments that are almost constantly occurring, our own beer (2o4D "Lobby Fuel" - courtesy of member Experiment 626), and adopting the term "EAT IT!" as our own (courtesy of a member Blastoid9000).
TangoDown is also known for a group of highly-skilled gamers. TangoDown members are focused on having fun with those that share the same outlook. The skull and crossbones that is our clan's main logo ensures that other clans, especially those filled with pre-teens and members with shrieking voices, know that they're not just dealing with another group of inexperienced teens, they're dealing with TangoDown - gaming's premiere adult clan.
